why we do what we do

Welcome! Are you here because you want to save our planet from climate catastrophe, or because you are sick and tired of paying high prices for gasoline or because you are looking for a cool way to get around town in a car that costs closer to $20,000 than to $50,000? If so, then we are on the same team.

My first car was a Honda Accord because at the time (1981) it got 50 mpg on the highway and after the OPEC Oil Embargo, I was looking to save money on fuel. As you will see below, we started our EV journey with a one-person, 70 mph, EV that drives like a car but is technically a motorcycle because it has just 3 wheels. A lot of people love it still, but it’s not a four-seasons car (not for driving in the snow, ice or rain), hence the development of the next level, 4-wheel, safety certified car version ... the Point5. Here are some videos of our EV journey thus far.

our first EV

Our 3-wheel EV and first micro-factory from Myers Motors LLC.
It might seem shocking, but people found that 30 miles of range and one seat fit how they drove most of the time.

no more gas

We named our 3-wheel EV the “NmG” (for no more gas)
We upgraded to a 70-mile range with lithium batteries (and a low-cost BMS developed with the University of Akron).
Watch to see why Caroline was excited when gas hit $4/gallon.

your 15 minutes of fame

Driving a unique car like the NmG (or the Point5) gets you noticed. Not good if you are up to no good. But if you like to make people smile, don’t mind getting your picture taken and love making friends ... it’s just the vehicle to drive. Especially when you wrap it!

Our Point5 Proof of Concept Car

The next step of our EV journey was the decision to take what we had learned from our 3-wheel experience and add some automotive engineers who could take us through crash testing and airbags and other safety / lean engineering to make the Point5 highway legal. We then raised about $150,000 and built this early proof-of-concept Point5.

what's next?

Doing the actual engineering, testing and certification so that we bring the Point5 to life.

our plans

lean, efficient and personalized manufacturing

The Point5 will be built-to-order using local labor in regional micro-factories. These will offer no-haggle pricing and customization at purchase, as well as service when needed.
